The Perdrix cable car: a beautiful ride to the Puy de Sancy
To access the Puy de Sancy, it is possible to do so by hiking or by taking the Téléphérique de la Perdrix in Super Besse. At the exit of the cable car you can take two different paths.
Chemin des Cretes via the summit of Puy de la Perdrix
Exit to the right of the cable car, you can admire the magnificent panorama of the Chaudefour Valley. you reach the summit of Puy de la Perdrix with its orientation table. the summit of the Puy de la Perdrix offers you a superb 360° panorama of the Puy de Dôme, the Vallee de Chaudefour, Puy de Cacadogne and Puy des Crebasses. On your right the Puy de Champgourdeix and the Puy de Chambourguet which dominates Super Besse. On the other side, the Puy de la Perdrix overlooks the Puy de Paillaret, the Puy Gros and the Fontaine salée. Full south, a magnificent view of the Monts du Cantal.
You then descend in the direction of Puy Ferrand to reach the Col de la Cabane. At the level of the Col de la Cabane a beautiful view of the Mont Dore, the Roc de Cuzeau, the Pan de la Grange and the Puy des Crebasses. In front of you, the path to get to the top of the Puy de Sancy.
The path towards Puy Gros and the Col de la Cabane
Exit to the left of the Perdrix cable car then join the hiking path in the direction of Puy de Sancy. towards Puy Gros to bypass Puy de la Perdrix and Puy Ferrand. on the way a nice panorama on the Puy de Paillaret, the salty fountain and the mountains of Cantal. At the Col de la Cabane join the Puy de Sancy.
Return to Super Besse from Puy de Sancy
To reach Super Besse, you must go to the arrival station of the Sancy cable car to go down to the Super Besse station. This walk is accessible to everyone.
