After stage 4 of the GR®30 from Saint Nectaire to Besse via Murol, Lake Chambon, the Chaudefour Valley, the stage ends in the small character town of Besse
The fifth stage of the GR®30, linking De Besse Saint Anastaise to Brion, offers hikers a diverse experience through a region rich in natural landscapes and heritage. After exploring the charming town of Besse with its mountain architecture, artisanal shops and traditional restaurants, hikers begin their journey towards Lake Pavin.
GR®30 - from Besse to Lac de Montcynere
Pavin Lake, located in the Sancy Massif, offers an exceptional panorama of the Super Besse resort and the surrounding peaks. The climb to Puy de Montchal allows hikers to enjoy breathtaking views of the Chaudefour valley. Continuing their path, walkers reach Lac de Montcynere, a fresh water reserve located near the town of Issoire. This lovely place, formed by a maar, offers a peaceful atmosphere conducive to contemplation.
GR®30, from Lac de Montcynere to Brion
The second part of this stage takes them through the magnificent woods to the village of Compains, before a final climb to reach Brion, an authentic village in Cezallier. The landscapes of moors, peat bogs, Estives and preserved landscapes of this region will not fail to amaze hikers, offering total immersion in nature.
GR®30, stage 6, from Brion to Eglisneuve
Continuing their adventure on the GR®30, walkers will explore the sixth stage leading from Brion to Eglisneuve d’Entraigues. This portion of the trail offers varied and captivating landscapes, including the magnificent village of La Godivelle with its sparkling lakes. The presence of cows in the summer pastures and the discovery of the village of Espinchal add a rustic and authentic touch to this portion of the route.
The fifth stage of the GR®30 from Besse Saint Anastaise to Brion offers hikers a deep immersion in the wild and preserved nature of the Massif du Sancy and Cezallier.
