The GR®30 is a spectacular hiking route that circles the lakes of Auvergne, in the southern part of the Puy de Dôme department, offering breathtaking views of the Massif du Sancy. This particular segment, Stage 7 from Égliseneuve-d'Entraigues to Saint-Genès-Champespe, is a charming part of the GR®30 that takes you through picturesque villages and several beautiful lakes. Following stage 6 of the GR®30 between Brion and Egliseneuve d'Entraigues, you leave Cezallier for Artense.

Departing from the charming village of Égliseneuve-d'Entraigues, this stage of the GR®30 offers you the natural beauty of the Pays de l'Artense, with a breathtaking view of the Massif du Sancy. Along the way, you will pass through a section shared between the GR4 and GR®30 trails, adding to the feeling of adventure and exploration.
One of the highlights of this stage are the numerous lakes that dot the landscape, including the picturesque Lac de l'Esclauze, Lac du T'aurons, Lac de Crégut and Lac du Tact. These serene bodies of water provide a peaceful backdrop to your hike, inviting you to pause and take in the beauty of your surroundings.
After a relatively easy and open 21 kilometer hike, you will reach the village of Saint-Genès-Champespe, where you can rest and recharge before continuing your journey. The quiet atmosphere of the village and the warm hospitality of its inhabitants provide a perfect conclusion to this stage of the GR®30.
