The Puy de Dome in Orcines is the highest peak in the chain of Puys listed as World Heritage by Unesco. It dominates the 80 other volcanoes of the Chaine des Puys. At its summit, the Temple of Mercury, a place of pilgrimage for centuries.

The chemin des Muletiers allows you to reach the summit from the departure station to cover 6 km of paths around the Puy de Dome. it is also accessible from the Col de Ceyssat car park for a half-way route.
