The ascent of the Puy de Sancy can be done by the southern phase at the exit of the Sancy cable car from Mont Dore or by the northern phase from Super Besse or the Chaudefour Valley.

Ascent of the Puy de Sancy by the southern phase
At the exit of the Sancy cable car, turn right and head towards the ridge path. This is marked out by a wooden staircase that takes you to the top of the Puy de Sancy.

You can get there by the Super Besse cable car which quickly takes you to the top of Puy de la Perdrix. at the exit of the cable car, a 40min hike allows you to reach the summit
